Metastatic prostate cancer remains a leading cause of cancer-related death among men. Pathophysiology Metastasis in prostate cancer typically occurs via lymphatic or hematogenous routes. The bones, particularly the spine, pelvis, and ribs, are the most common sites of metastasis. Less commonly, prostate cancer can spread to the lungs, liver, or brain.
